I finally had an opportunity to make this loaf again last night. I brought some into work so my coworkers could give it a try. They seemed surprised with how good it tasted!
There are no walnuts in this loaf, as I had run out. While it tastes very good without nuts, the walnuts definitely add a very important crunch and layer of flavor. The husband and I fell in love with sourwood honey on our honeymoon in the Smokey Mountains. Its well worth the price to use it on buttered breads, pancakes and in his tea. I use generic Orange blossom for most of my cooking/baking. You can find several different varieties of honey here.
